WEB DESIGN
My father bought my first computer (100MHz, 64MB of RAM, 4MB video card, Windows 3.1) for me when I was in the 3rd grade, and
ever since then, I've been fascinated about computers. After 6 to 8 months of playing video games, I got bored of gaming so
after upgrading to Windows 95, I opened up Microsoft FrontPage Express and began designing my first web page. While designing,
I came across the "View HTML" function, which revealed the language behind all the design. With HTML came CSS, JavaScript, DHTML, PHP,
and basic MySQL, and here I am now. After several years of using Microsoft FrontPage, I now use Adobe Dreamweaver CS3 along with Notepad
for quick fixes.
GRAPHIC DESIGN
During my encounter with FrontPage Express, since I possessed some art skills, I thought I should and could make my own
graphics to complement my web site so I got Macromedia Fireworks 4 (I think at least) and began exploring the functionality of
the software. With Fireworks came my discovery of the Adobe Suite, and my designing skills began to improve. I currently use a
mix of Adobe Fireworks CS3 and Adobe PhotoShop CS3 for all my design work.
PHOTOGRAPHY
After my senior year of High School and as digital cameras and DSLRs began to get big, I decided that buying a
camera and taking photos to use on my web design would benefit me much instead of trying to search for stock photos. After
spending a good 3-5 months of reading and research on digital cameras and photography itself, I invested on a Canon
PowerShot Pro1 and immediately began taking pictures (I decided I would invest on a DSLR once my photography skills improved quite a bit).
As you can tell by my portfolio, I enjoy macro photography. Unfortunately, my camera got stolen only a few months later.
I now use a Canon PowerShot 850IS, a simple point-and-shoot
camera, but once of these days, I will invest in a mid-level DSLR. |
